Photos of a custom surcoat at right top and center, when seen in large view, nicely illustrate some of our standard construction features.
All surcoats shown at left have grommets and adjustable lacing at the sides, with laces at the front offering the option of an open, swashbuckling look or a more traditional closed front.
In the works is a more traditional surcoat made with a solid front and back, permanent leather lace stitching along the sides, with reinforced riding splits front and back. Both a stitched side and reinforced riding split are shown in the large view of a custom surcoat, shown at center right in dark brown suede.
We plan to have photos of our new surcoats on site before the end of August.

Suede Colors : Dark Brown, Tan, Rust, Wine, or Black.
This surcoat features a keyhole-style neckline trimmed and reinforced with an added layer of leather completely hand-stitched around all edges for strength and great looks.
At the sides, the raw edges are folded under along the entire length of the surcoat, providing a strong, smooth, double-layer finishing all the way from shoulders to hem. The armholes and side edges from waist to hem are hand-stitched, with grommets from underarm to waist for ease of adjustment and wear.
The raw edges of both riding splits are fully encased and finished with double rows of hand-stitching; and the splits feature rip-stops for additional strength and excellent wearability. In corresponding fashion, the bottom hem is folded under and finished with a double row of hand-stitching. Click the "More Photos" link for additional views and close-ups of detail work.

Shown in Dark Brown 4 oz Suede with black leather riveted straps supporting the rings while forming a decorative pattern at the shoulders and lower edge. The absence of rings across the
midsection allows for wearing a belt or swordbelt comfortably. Sides are grommeted,
making it easy to put on and remove and to give a bit of size adjustability.
Available with your choice of nickel or brass rings and rivets.

Leather Surcoat
Constructed of fine quality garment leather or suede, our surcoats are stitched completely by hand. In traditional fashion, the front and back are split for riding. Features include stitched collar trim and reinforcement at all points of stress, including laced areas, riding splits, and shoulders. Open front surcoats have a trimmed placket.

Champion's Surcoat
The Champion's Surcoat is our finest offering in leather surcoats to date. Using top-quality leather, we cut the front and back panels as single, large sections with no piecing or seams. Literally dozens of yards of heavy saddlers thread add handsome, hand-stitched accents to hems and trims.
Leather colors : Brown, Black, or Green.
Thread Colors : Black, Brown, Cream, or Natural (Beige).
Grommets ~ nickel or brass .

Rough Cut Leather Tunic
Our Rough Cut Leather Tunic is a perfect garb choice for woodsman or peasant, rogue and outlaw. This classicly simple style, somtimes also called a jerkin, is crafted in your choice of top-quality garment leather or suede using full cuts of leather with no piecing or seams. The sides of our tunic are folded under and glued for extra strength, then joined with heavy leather lace. The shoulders are reinforced in like manner and are also joined with heavy lace. No fussy trim, hems or decorative stitching, just a sturdily made, good looking basic leather tunic suitable for many personas and periods.

Freemans Leather Tunic
Our Freemans Leather Tunic is a slightly more refined version of our Rough Cut Tunic. We use the same top-quality materials and basic construction techniques as a starting point. In addition, the keyhole neckline is trimmed with matching (or contrasting) leather that's fully and securely hand-stitched. At the sides, the raw edges are folded under along the entire length of the tunic, providing a strong, smooth, double-layer finishing all the way from shoulders to bottom edge.
For ultimate ease of adjustment and comfortable wear, the sides feature grommets from the underarm to the waist and hand-stitched slits from the waist to the lower edge. For those who wish to project a slightly more polished appearance, the Freemans Tunic is a fine choice.
